Working with BSL-1 and BSL-2 Agents in the LSBI

There are a number of agents listed in the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) permit of the LSBI. For a complete list, please contact an LSBI facility manager.

If you wish to study a BSL-1 or BSL-2 agent that is not currently listed in the LSBI's IBC permit, a protocol amendment must be performed. There are two options for this amendment to take place:

    1. Amending the LSBI's IBC permit by submitting an Agent Addition Amendment
    2. Amending the collaborator's IBC permit by adding the LSBI's rooms through a Room Addition Amendment

In order to select the best option, please consult with one of the LSBI's facility managers
